Bollywood actor Rajkummar Rao is all set to hit the screens with his upcoming film “Srikanth.” In a recent interview, Rao opened up about an interesting piece of advice he received from none other than Shah Rukh Khan.
Khan, according to Rao, suggested buying a house that slightly stretches his budget. This, Khan explained, would inspire him to work harder to achieve his financial goals. Notably, Rao recently purchased a lavish Mumbai property worth ₹44 crore from his “Mr. and Mrs. Mahi” co-star, actress Janhvi Kapoor. Kapoor had purchased the same property in December 2020 for ₹39 crore.
Speaking about his new home to Mashable, Rao said, “Shah Rukh sir told me something very interesting. He said, ‘Son, whenever you buy a house, always buy one that’s a little beyond your means. That way, God will also look after you, and you’ll be motivated to work even harder.'” He further added, “Owning a home in the city is a dream, of course, and my wife Patralekhaa and I have built this one with a lot of love.”
This isn’t the first time Rao has expressed his admiration for Shah Rukh Khan. A few years ago, in a Humans of Bombay post, Rao spoke about how Khan gave him “hope” to pursue acting. “Growing up, I was completely fascinated by Shah Rukh sir,” he said. “I used to stare at his posters and think, if an outsider like him could make it this big, then maybe there’s hope for me too.”
On the work front, Rao will next be seen in “Mr. and Mrs. Mahi” alongside Janhvi Kapoor once again. He also has “Srikanth” with Alaya F releasing soon. His upcoming projects include “Stree 2” and “Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video” with Triptii Dimri.
