"Readers' Love is My Tonic – Last Night, I Received Abundant Appreciation"
Indian Airlines Pilots Cooperative Housing Society Honors Me for Saving Prime Property from Corruption
Readers’ love is my tonic, and last night I received an abundance of it. If I am not accused of self-praise, I would like to share that last evening, the Indian Airlines Pilots Cooperative Housing Society in Gurugram organized a candlelight dinner to honor me for saving their prime property worth over Rs. 100 crores from being sold at a throwaway price by the Co-operative Department of Haryana.
As you may recall, within 24 hours of the release of the video exposing the “shady deal,” the auction of the property was postponed. Ankur Gupta, the ACS of Cooperatives, informed that he had directed Rajesh Jogpal, the RCS, to postpone the auction.
The Society consists of approximately 250 members, including retired or serving pilots from Airlines and the Airforce, as well as retired officers from the BSF and Army. Although I don’t drink whisky, the love I received was more intoxicating than whisky itself.
Devinder Gera, the past president of the society, and the current Vice-President, Raman Kapoor, honored me with flowers as a token of their gratitude. My friends, journalist Ravi Yadav, advocate Harish Bhutani, and Bijender Rana also joined the dinner, and together we pledged to launch a crusade against the corruption prevalent in the Cooperative Department, which harasses flat buyers in Cooperative societies on flimsy grounds.
We decided to reach out to other societies in the NCR region and unite under one umbrella to fight this corruption. In recent times, the Cooperative Department has turned into a den of corruption.
I salute my hundreds of sources who, regardless of caste, creed, region, and religion, have supported me in this journey. To become an investigative reporter, one must have the credibility to publish news shared by sources while keeping their identity secret.
