Encroachments have blocked growth of Delhi… claims Housing and Urban affairs minister,
Manohar Lal.

Public memory is very short but am reminding you that as CM ,Haryana you had not taken any action on encroachments on prime land at Sikandpur in Gurugram.
Manohar Lal ji ! about nine years ago you were President, Grievances Committee, Gurugram.
In a meeting,the then Gurugram DC,T.L.Satya Parkash had put up a complaint of RTI activist Ravinder alleging illegal construction of multi-story buildings on prime land of MCG at Sikandarpur.I am quoting your words”It is difficult to remove encroachments but government will constitute high-power committee to suggest how to check encroachments on government land”.
Till date, no such committee
has been formed and your clean chit to encroachers has led to widespread encroachments on government land not only in Gurugram but in whole of the state.
It is interesting to mention here that multi-story commercial buildings were constructed on Sikandarpur Nullah which had blocked the flow of rain water from the Aravali to Najafgarh drain resulting to floods every year.
Recall that speaking at Madhya Pradesh Global Investors’ Summit 2025, Manohar Lal had described Gurugram as the most developed city highlighting its significant growth under his decade -long tenure as Haryana CM.He further boasted that over the past 10-12 years we have transformed Gurugram,
whereas Delhi has remained stagnant .Mr Manohar Lal by making false claims about development of Gurugram you have applied salt to the woes and injuries Gurugram.
