What is the meaning of free hand to the Police?Am failed to understand and interrupt the declaration of Haryana CM,Naib Saini “ I have given free hand to the DGP to crackdown on criminals and gangsters operating from abroad”.As far as I had whatsoever little knowledge of functioning of Police that not only DGP even SP,s,Range IG,s and Police Commissioners have free hand to crackdown on gangsters or those who violate law .In day to day functioning of Police CM has no role.

At the most he can transfer a Police officer.Beyond that he can’t persecute Police officers without any substantial evidence against him.He can facilitate by providing more finance, equipments and giving power of transfer of employees and officers to DGP .Tailpiece.In joint Punjab then Home Minister Mohan Lal raided Derabassi Police station and asked Munshi to give him Rojnamcha which he politely refused stating that Minister has no power to ask it adding that only senior police officers and DM can ask for it .Mohan Lal threatened him of suspension on ground of misbehaviour even then the Munshi refused to budge.Later on the Minister narrated the incident in
Assembly praising the Munshi.
