How an upright IAS officer was persecuted for refusing to carry out illegal orders of the then CM,Bhupinder Singh Hooda- Issue of shifting cane growers of Karnal and Kurukshetra from Cooperative Sugar Mills, Sahbad to Piccadily Sugar Mill, Bhadso, owned by the family of then PWD minister Vinod Sharma. Requesting for anonymity, he recalls, ”I was Director General, Agriculture and Cane Commissioner, Haryana. Since this was against norms/rules, hence I refused to pass an order to this effect. Bye election of Kiloi Hooda Saanpla was going on from Mr Bhupinder Singh Hooda was contesting.
I was immediately transferred to an insignificant post of MD, HBCKN (Haryana Backward Classes Kalyan Nigam) and MD, HSCFDC(Haryana Scheduled Castes Finance & Development Corporation, previously known as Haryana Harijan Kalyan Nigam) despite having more than 20 years service in IAS. Mr M L Tayal,IAS was PSCM and he was very angry with me. Later I was again transferred to another very insignificant post, MD, Haryana Seeds Development Corporation to teach me a lesson for defying CM’s unlawful orders.”
