Obituary-Dr KR,Punia retired IAS and ex Haryana minister.After taking voluntary retirement he had joined “Nayay Yudh” agitation launched by Ch Devi Lal .He won the assembly election and was inducted into the Cabinet of Devi Lal in 1987.Devi Lal has projected him as Dalit leader and wanted to make him the President of the country.But he developed differences with Om Parkash Chautala son of Devi Lal and on eve of 89 Lok Sabha elections resigned from the party and had formed his own political party “Janhit Morcha “ .Dr Punia was media friendly .I had met him numerous times during my posting in Chandigarh with Jansatta when he was minister in Devi Lal government.
