Delhi will witness “Mahabharata “ between two women, CM Rekha Gupta and leader of opposition in assembly ,Atishi .Atishi is .experienced and Rekha first timer MLA .With Arvind Kejriwal out of picture it will be interesting to watch how Atishi handles the challenges by Rekha who enjoys the support of Union government ,RSS and of LG,BJP has started aggressively targeting AAP by raising the issue of lavish spending on “Sheesh Mahal “ official residence of outgoing CM,Arvind Kejriwal ,and mismanagement in running much publishing “Mohalla clinic “ scheme.In session of State assembly report of CAG about Liquor scam was presented and there were allegations and counter allegations against each other.Delhi BJP President Virender Sachdeva alleged that the CAG report has caused loss of about rs two thousand crores and it has totally exposed the AAP government.On other leader of opposition ex CM ,Atishi defended the Excise policy adding that it had checked black marketing and had increased the revenue.
No Atishi tried to corner BJP on the issue of removal of pictures of Baba Sahib Ambedkar and Bhagat Singh from the office of the CM.Now firebrand Rekha Gupta Delhi CM enjoys support of LG ,Prime Minister Narender Modi and of RSS.On the other hand ex CM ,Arvind Kejriwal is focusing more on handling Punjab situation amidst reports of Congress party,s efforts of winning AAP ,Legislators.Political analyst Devinder Surjewala commented “ After ten years of Kejriwal ,s in power now people of Delhi are hoping that there will be an era of development .Since BJP is holding power at centre as well as in Delhi.
There will be no excuse that LG does not allow or permit to work independently. In assembly there will not be any serious challange in absence of Arvind Kejriwal.”Now AAP lacks the fighter (Kejriwal )to ‘gherao’ the government. Atishi can’t become a giant killer. It will be smooth run for BJP for five years. BJP need not to do anything especial. According to their agenda blame game, divide – and – rule ,sail the boat thoroughly. It is believed that for Arvind Kejriwal coming days are very crucial. BJP will blame him for all the mess created in Delhi during his tenure years rule.Recall that during the campaign Prime Minister,Narender Modi has described rule of AAP as disaster and urged the people to vote for BJP so that people could get rid of disaster Due to his . Hawa- Hawai, freebees and lies he will be in trouble. ED and other central agencies will dig up old files to screw Kejriwal .This will be part of strategy to put Kejriwal busy in self defence.On first day of session 21 AAP legislators were suspended by the Speaker for creating disturbances.In assembly BJP has support of 48 MLAs while AAP,which was in power for two terms has been reduced to 22 seats.Atishi accused BJP of being “anti -Dalit and “anti-Sikh “for removing the portraits of BR Ambedkar and Bhagat Singh from the CM,s office .
CM,Rekha Gupta denied the allegations adding that AAP is trying to hide its corruption. Congratulated Rekha Gupta ,Atishi commented “ It is very sad to see that now Delhi assembly is being led by anti -Dalit and anti -Sikh party,”To counter the allegations BJP shared a photo of CM’s office showing photos of Mahatma Gandhi,Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar ,Bhagat Singh,President and the Prime Minister of the country.Media expert Sunit Mukherjee said that now BJP led government has to show the results as people has high hopes and now it can’t take the excuse that LG is not allowing it to function .
Not only people of Delhi but people across the country will keenly watch Rekha Gupta versus Atishi battle.While Atishi has experience of running the government,Rekha Gupta has rose from the ranks of RSS which is her plus point.By choosing Rekha Gupta ignoring the claims of seniors including Parvesh Verma ,BJP has played double card a woman and belonging to caste of Arvind Kejriwal.Sushma Swaraj and Atishi has brief stint but Rekha Gupta has to prove that she will work as Sheela Dixit has done for the all round Development of the State.People still remember the good work done during tenure of Sheela Dixit.
