Case of money laundering by management of Abhinav Co-Operative Group Housing Society Limited,Gurugram-Flats attached and recommended case under the money laundering Act.In a landmark judgment Ritender Assistant Registrar ,Co- operative Societies,Gurugram has attached the flats of eleven former and present members of management of the society.Order of attachment was passed on 23rd January,25 and DC,Gurugram was requested for taking necessary action.Besides the Estate Officer-I HSVP ,Gurugram and Tehshildar Kadipur have been requested not to allow transfer of above attached flats without obtaining NOC from the Assistant Registrar.The order says “ the management committee members has caused deficiencies in the assets of the society by wilful negligence and caused losses/depleted profits of the society ignoring diligence of ordinary man of prudence by acting against the interests of the society.It is a clear instance of the money laundering,where the members introduce the illicit fund ( huge cash ) into the financial system i.e the society’s account books and conceals the original funds (huge cash)deposited by the members/ non members through complex transactions and transfers and reintroduced the Laundered money into the economy i e returned the money through cheques and valid instruments .The scandal came to light following tireless efforts by whistle blower Nitin Bhatia on whose complaint above action has been taken.Million dollars question still arises that why FIR has not registered so far and why the members of management committee not removed from the membership of management committee ?
