Away from the razzmatazz of fast paced life and 30-seconds reels, the turtle abode in Kajalheri village in Fatehabad district offers an opportunity to pause and reflect on life and events.
Just stand along the edge of the tranquil pond -home to hundreds of turtles that may perhaps live one hundred years or more (if they escape the brutalities of mankind) and stare at the popping up faces of these creators to learn some lessons.
They seem to silently send out a message – quite loud and clear: have patience, be humble, stay genuine, value your privacy, and remain grounded in yourself.
Like turtles, we too don’t like disturbances and want peace of mind. But we forget nature’s rule of ‘give and take’. Turtles remind us of the story of race between the hare and the tortoise. We like the story but seem to have forgotten its morals- i.e. slow and steady wins the race. We want to win every race as we don’t have the patience of a tortoise.
We’ve become the hare—restless, impatient, and consumed by the desire to win every race, at the cost of our mental peace and sink deep down in the Paatak Lok of lies, toxic secrets, conspiracies, fakeness, concoctions, allurements and so on.
The serene environs at the sanctuary provide an opportunity to introspect. Indeed, nature’s quiet symphony holds the answers to many of our inner conflicts. Perhaps, it’s time to slow down, embrace patience, and find harmony within ourselves and the world around…!!!
