A curious incident recently unfolded at the Haryana Secretariat in Chandigarh when former Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar was not allowed to use the lift designated exclusively for the Chief Ministers of Haryana and Punjab.
A few days ago, Manohar Lal visited the Haryana Secretariat as usual and headed towards the main lift, which is now reserved for the exclusive use of both state Chief Ministers. However, security personnel politely informed him of the new policy. Following this, he took the side lift, which is meant for ministers.
Interestingly, despite the change in lift protocol, once he reached the upper floors, Manohar Lal was greeted like a “Super CM,” with all the respect and ceremony typically reserved for the state’s top leader.
