Woman Caught Sleeping in Overhead Bin on Plane in Viral Video

A video has gone viral on social media showing a woman sleeping in the overhead compartment of a Southwest Airlines flight, sparking confusion and amusement online.

The clip, originally posted on TikTok and later shared on other platforms, has garnered over five million views according to the New York Post. The footage shows the woman comfortably stretched out in the luggage bin, baffling fellow passengers who can be heard laughing in the background.

Unclear on whether the woman was a passenger or crew member, viewers have expressed bafflement at her actions and how she managed to climb into the compartment. Comments on the video ranged from humor – “When someone’s in my seat but I don’t wanna bother,” to curiosity – “How did she get up there? And she’s just chillin’ out, maxin’, relaxin’ all cool,” reported the Post.

Southwest Airlines has not yet responded to the video.

This isn’t the first instance of such an unusual occurrence. In 2023, a passenger was filmed sleeping in the overhead bin on a Ryanair flight, and in 2019, a Southwest Airlines flight attendant sparked a similar stir when she climbed into a bin for what the airline called a “brief moment of fun with Customers.” However, the airline emphasized that safety is always their top priority.
